TacoTime Canada
Brand evolution · Agency of record

Authentically different. Authentically TacoTime.

Audience research and a deep brand audit helped define what people already loved about TacoTime. That thinking now guides an ongoing national marketing relationship spanning campaigns, local-store marketing, media, digital, franchise communications and guest experience.

The assignment

TacoTime came with decades of history, strong customer affection and an established place in Western Canadian culture. The opportunity was to understand what continued to make the brand relevant and give its national marketing a clearer centre.

01
The approach

The work revealed a brand people valued for its colourful personality, craveable food, familiar comfort and willingness to have a little fun. That understanding became a practical foundation for creative decisions across the business, allowing each campaign to build on a more consistent idea of the brand.

02
The work

One brand idea with a lot of places to show up. National campaigns, limited-time offers, Taco Tuesday®, Burritoful Thursday, local-store marketing, media, radio, digital, app creative, packaging, franchise materials and hospitality.

03
Where it led

The original strategy work developed into an ongoing Agency of Record relationship in which velvettheory supports both major brand initiatives and the continuous marketing required to keep a national QSR moving.
